亚波长金属光栅具有传统光栅所不具有的特殊性质,其透射率与消光比高、光谱宽度宽、偏振性能好,是一种性能优良的光学元件,在亚波长光学元件应用领域中占据重要地位.且其体积小、结构紧凑、易于集成,在光学系统中可减少光路元件、增加系统灵活性,具有改进和取代传统光学器件的潜力.简要介绍了亚波长金属光栅理论分析方面的进展,以及金属光栅结构创新、多维发展、理论模拟向实验制备、适用波段向太赫兹及紫外波段拓展等方面的发展趋势.同时也阐述了亚波长金属光栅在激光器系统、偏振成像、光电探测、薄膜太阳能电池、光学传感等领域广泛的应用前景.
