The JFR has been indexed & abstracted by 17 international literature databases, such as Chemical Abstracts, BIOSIS Previews, CAB International, and Abstract Journal of VINITI(AJ), as well as many Chinese literature databases. All the papers published in the Journal can be searched at http://link.springer.com. The article citation, utilization, and impact factor of JFR have been increasing year by year.
Three development stages of Journal of Forestry Research:
v1990-1996: Journal of Northeast Forestry University (English Edition). During this stage it was a university journal with nearly all submissions from NEFU.
v1997-2006: In 1997 the journal adopted its current name, and, in 2002, was sponsored cooperatively by NEFU and the Ecological Society of China. JFR become a national journal and most submissions were from within China.
v2007-now: Since 2007 the editorial office of JFR has collaborated with Springer-Verlag GmbH to bring the online and print journals to the international audience. JFR is now an international journal with 70 percent of submissions from international researchers (covering more than 50 countries, with the balance contributed by Chinese scientists).
